Legacy of Performance

Late 1800s

A New Beginning

Maria Martini Fillin immigrated from Italy to Pennsylvania with her four children, only to discover her husband had been killed in a mining explosion. Determined to move forward, she set her sights westward, remembering family in Idaho.

Late 1800s

A New Marriage

In Idaho, Maria married Albino Micheli, a fellow immigrant from Revo, Italy. Together they built a new life and eventually moved to Diamondville, Wyoming, where Albino worked in the Frontier Coal Mine. They welcomed three sons: Joseph, Frank, and Albert.

Early 1900s

A Narrow Escape

Albino narrowly escaped a mining tragedy when a massive explosion killed 90 miners while he was off-shift. Maria, having already lost one husband to mining, insisted Albino leave the mines for good.

Early 1900s

Establishing the Ranch

The family moved to Fort Bridger, Wyoming, where they purchased a relinquished homestead. This land became the foundation of the Micheli Ranch, rooted in resilience, hard work, and family legacy.

1900s–Present

Over six generations of Michelis have lived and worked the land, continuing the legacy of ranching excellence. In October 2025, the seventh generation will be born, carrying the tradition forward.
